Greeting and Welcome from Dr. Karl

Convicted sex offenders in the community are under tight control by their local probation or parole officers, so the obstacles to gaining access to working with them are almost as if they were in prison. Starting in 1990, it took me a year to get the orthodox trainings and jump through the hoops, since they knew I was an unorthodox practitioner. Corrections people are comfortable only with the standard, pathology-oriented approach in spite of its low rate of success. I was able to get a two-year window, 1991-93, in which to demonstrate my approach, based on teaching them to connect with that which is already in everyone, that makes good men good. All six men who completed one to two years of the weekly group classes were profoundly healed and became better than average decent men.
This was the most satisfying piece of professional work in my life, and I am grateful to Dr. Maheu for making this blog forum available to me for spreading the wider and deeper knowledge I gained from it. I suspect I will also continue to learn, from reading of your experiences and insights.

Dear Dr. Karl;
Thanks for hanging in there with us. We need to be treated as human beings and given a chance to work out our problems and support each other. I'll be coming to your site often.
