Can Dreams Hint at Our Past Lives?

Question: I have often found reference to dreams as a hint or possible connection to a past life on this planet. Do you agree or not?

I have talked to people who do use dreams as a way to investigate their past lives. However, since past lives are not verifiable, they must remain for me in the realm of belief rather than fact. I prefer to see past lives as a portal or perspective that gives me insight into how I see my rootedness & place in the world and I like to open the possible lives up to past, present-parallel and future as well.

Dreams can then not only hint at connections, but provide an emotional bridge across which we can travel and provide inner-personal cultural exchanges. The key for me is cross-fertilization -- that I both provide something new for my alternative lives and they provide something new for me. I feel the key to all past life investigation is to ask myself why I am doing it? Am I just nosey or can we begin to build a mutually enriching network across time and space?

Suggestions for Dream and Past Life Exploration (with Karma & Improvement in mind)

  1. What parts of the dream seem to be about the past, the present-alternative or the future?
  2. What aspects of the character's personalities and behavior is familiar to me? Is this something I want to increase, to maintain or release?
  3. What aspects of the character's personalities and behavior are unfamiliar to me? Is this something I want to increase, to maintain or release?
  4. If I could write a short letter to this character, what would I say to them?
  5. If I were to receive a short letter from this character, what would they tell me?
  6. Is there a hint about a project that involves both their time and mine?

i have had three main dreams in my lifetime that have affected me. I still remember them and sometimes wish I was there. 1)I am in a victorian/colonial home upstairs. All the walls are white. I am leaving the bathroom and walk in the hall that has stairs going down and roomson that floor. I see black wires on the top of the walls running through the house. I begin to go down the wooden stairs. The stairs are worn and dark from everyone walking on them. I can sethefront door downstairs is wide open. I go down stairs and run out the front door. I see the house is white and big green plants are framing the porch of the house. I run down the big, long, white stairs if the porch. There is a man on the right, on the green yard working on wood. The wood is on a bench of some sort. The man doesn't seem to care that I'm there. I notice the house is right on the corner of a main street. The road is fresh yellowish gravel dirt. I run out to the road and start running on it. I see horses and wagons. Then I wake up. 2) I am a african american girl about 11-12yr., in a green dress with pig tails with red cloth bows. I am on the porch of a house that is right across the street from a church. There are other kids on the porch too. We seem to be happy. All of a sudden the house is on fire. And I die in the fire. 3) It is the colonial time. I am young woman. I am in my wood /log made house. I see a big fire place. where there are black pots. There are pot like pans hanging from the wall by the fire place too. There are two doors on each side of the fire place. I think leading to rooms. In front of the fire place is a long, big, wooden table. A window is on the left side. I run out the front door. There are houses just like mine in a line. The path or road in front ofthe house is a worn down dirt smooth road. Like a neighborhood street. we are across from a big pond like lake. There are big maple trees all around the pond. And alot of fall greenery. I get into a small wooden boat. I am laying down in the wooden boat watching the leaves fall from the trees. The sky is blue and the breeze is sweet and calming. I am so relaxed. and then I wake up.
