In works by noted hypnosis experts such as Harold Crasilneck and D. Corydon Hammond, research is cited which does indeed suggest that hypnosis may have some positive impact on breast size. The mechanism for such increases is unknown in that it could be due to vascular changes (blood flow), hormonal changes, or both. Beyond that, the permanence of such changes is open to discussion.
Before people start running out to their local hypnotists, however, keep in mind that many people advertised great changes through hypnosis. However, many people who claim to be skilled in the use of hypnosis are also poorly trained. So, in considering hypnosis for any health problem, check the therapist's credentials. Ask what his/her training is.
Also check for membership in professional organizations which require certain levels of training. In the United States, one such organization is the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. Many other countries have the equivalent.
