Mark Sichel

Mark Sichel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing psychotherapy in New York City since 1980. A graduate of the Hunter College School of Social Work, Mark was trained in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health. He has a general practice treating adolescents, adults, seniors, couples and families. Though trained in traditional Freudian psychoanalysis, Mark's orientation is humanistic, interactive, problem-solving psychotherapy.

Mark has been admitted to the Academy of Certified Social Workers, and the National Association of Social Worker's Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. He is also a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.

Mark is a Supervisor of Psychotherapy at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health and has taught in their joint Doctor of Ministry Program with the Hebrew Union College. He was also Director of the Addiction Recovery Unit at the Postgraduate Center. He has served as an educational consultant to the National Council on Alcoholism, and been a guest speaker at many conferences related to mental health, self-help and addiction recovery. Mark appears monthly on AOL's Addiction and Recovery Forum hosting his popular Conference Series called Seasons of Sobriety.

Mark lives in Manhattan with his wife Cindy Kasovitz Sichel, who is also a psychotherapist, and they have four children.
